SEC Tournament Quarterfinals: South Carolina Game Thread

#5 Alabama Crimson Tide (18-13, 10-8 SEC) vs #4 South Carolina (22-9, 12-6 SEC)

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Following Alabama's 75-55 whipping of the Mississippi State Bulldogs yesterday, the Tide now advance to take on the 4th-seeded South Carolina Gamecocks. The only time these two met this year it turned out to be one of the most memorable games of the 2017 SEC season, as Alabama prevailed in Columbia 90-86 in 4OT. The Gamecocks, led by SEC Player of the Year Sindarius Thornwell, will surely be looking for some revenge from that slugfest.

The Crimson Tide are a win away from making it to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament for the first time since 2013, when they fell to Billy Donovan and his Florida Gators on the final Saturday before Selection Sunday. If 'Bama can get back there, they will face the winner of Georgia-Kentucky.

Today's game will tip-off at the same time as yesterday: about 30 minutes after the end of the first game of the day. It will once again be televised on the SEC Network.
