Ryan Anderson Drafted #49 Overall By Washington Redskins

Alabama fans have a new team to follow as Anderson joins teammate Jonathan Allen.

With the 17th pick in the second round, the Washington Redskins bolstered their defense by selecting Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson. Anderson is one of those high-motor guys who just always seems to be around the football and became a vocal leader on defense in his senior season.

Unfortunately for Ryan, none of his measurables jump off the page. He isn’t the biggest or fastest guy at his position, but he is big and fast enough. He is a heady guy who has a knack for finding rush lanes, and was probably the best finisher on the team:

Coming into his senior season, Anderson was used in more of a specialty role and thus hadn’t been asked to drop into coverage very frequently. He worked tirelessly to become a complete linebacker and was able to show his chops in that area with a critical pick six in the national semifinal:

Anderson is one of the safest picks in this draft as an extremely durable guy who has a very high floor. He will be a starter in the NFL for a very long time.
