ISSUES:

  • Florida - Bama doesn't play the Gators this season. However, could Florida receive the high honor of getting stomped by the Tide in Atlanta in December once again? [Full Gump Mode, on] If they want to win the SEC East, they have some big holes to fill on the defensive side (Caleb Brantley, Jarrad Davis, Jalen 'Teez' Tabor, Marcus Maye, Alex Anzalone, Quincy Wilson, Bryan Cox Jr., Joey Ivie). In addition, they STILL need to find themselves a QB.
  • Ole Miss - What a mess. This might be the equivalent of a perp walk as we get the first look at the Rebs since the NCAA handed down its Notice of Allegations of 21 Level-One violations by the program. It will be interesting to see what kind of energy we see from both the team and the fan base.
  • South Alabama - We get some Jags fans on RBR so I thought I'd give them a little shout-out. If you find yourselves in Mobile on a fine Saturday April 8 afternoon, saunter on out to the Red-Blue Spring Game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
  • Auburn - This is a good opportunity to scout Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham at quarterback and figure out how many Heismans he will win this season. The Tigers have some issues at wide receiver and need to replace Montravius Adams and Carl Lawson on defense.
  • Oklahoma - The Crimson Tide does not face the Sooners in the regular season but maybe in the post-season? Bob Stoops solution to the Swiss cheese defense they had this past season is to switch to a 4-3 defense. Good luck with that in the pass-happy Big XII. Replacing girl-puncher Joe Mixon (as a running back, not as a girl-puncher) and Samaje Perine in the backfield is on the agenda as well.
  • Texas A&M - Kevin Sumlin is on the hottest of hot seats and is once again searching for a QB. Defensive Coordinator John Chavis is entering year three in Aggieland without much to show for it.
  • Clemson - Another non-opponent but who among you would not like to see a rubber match and get some revenge? But it will be a tough road for the Tigers to get to the CFP. They lose a TON of talent including Heisman winning deserving QB Deshaun Watson.
  • Florida State - Alabama Week #1 opponent will be strong team this year. 'Noles QB Deondre Francois took too many hits as a freshman last season. How bold will he be in his second season under center?
  • Mississippi State - Can the Bullies build off the momentum they gained at the end of the last season?
