Vegas: Alabama is a heavy favorite to win the SEC

New, comments

Once again, the Tide is the team to beat.

It’s almost degenerate gambler season

I really should just copy and paste last year’s story on these very odds. Bovada has released its odds for every conference, and the Tide, again, is a tremendous favorite to take home its fourth straight SEC crown.

Here are the odds for the conference favorites from Bovada.

AAC: South Florida 3/2

ACC: Florida State 1/1

Big Ten: Ohio State 5/6

Big 12: Oklahoma 5/6

CUSA: Western Kentucky 5/7

MAC: Toledo 2/3

MWC: Boise State & San Diego State both at 3/2

Pac 12: USC 10/11

SEC: Alabama: 2/3

Sun Belt: Appalachian State 6/5

Here are the complete SEC odds:

NCAA Football 2017 Season - Odds to win the SEC Championship

Alabama 2/3

Auburn 5/1

LSU 5/1

Georgia 6/1

Florida 8/1

Tennessee 25/1

Texas A&M 40/1

Arkansas 66/1

Mississippi State 75/1

Kentucky 100/1

South Carolina 100/1

Missouri 200/1

Vanderbilt 200/1

***Ole Miss is off the board due to being under investigation.

Who is too low?

Who is too high?

For my part, I think Vanderbilt will not win the SEC but they have to get at least as good of odds as Mississippi State, right? Meanwhile, LSU at 5/1 seems like a lot of love for a team with road games at Alabama , Ole Miss and Florida. Also, the Vols rotate onto the schedule, and the Tigers get to make the trip to the Garbage Truck Worker Convention. This is to say nothing of Tennessee getting 25/1 -- a team that could conceivably finish in the cellar of the East.

What say you?
