Alabama has locked in commitment number eight for the 2018 class with the pledge from all-purpose back Slade Bolden out of West Monroe, LA - the alma mater of former Bama All-American Cam Robinson. The 5-11, 198 lbs back can play a number of positions including quarterback, running back and wide receiver. He also plays defensive back for his high school team. It is believed the Crimson Tide will likely use him as a slot receiver.

The 3-star APB made a big impression on the Tide staff at the Alabama camp this summer with his speed and versatility. It’s still early in this young man’s playing career but some are already comparing him to Julian Edelman. If he can even come close to living up to those big expectations, he should fit right into OC Brian Daboll’s system.

Bolden had around two dozen FBS offers, choosing Bama over TCU and a host of others. He will graduate in December and enroll in January. Karl Dunbar and Burton Burns are credited for this commitment.
