Commit! Four-Star DE Cameron Latu Pledges to Alabama

The 2018 Recruiting class continues to come together.

Student Sports

Alabama got some great news on Friday from the #8 weakside defensive end and #149 overall player in the 2018 recruiting cycle:

The Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus product chose the Tide over USC, Nebraska, Utah, and Washington during a ceremony at his high school.

“Just their coaching staff I’m very comfortable,” Latu recently said about the Tide. “I love their coaching staff. My position coach, Tosh Lupoi, is just a really good guy. I feel like his energy would get me ready for the next level.”

A one-time BYU commit, Latu projects as a linebacker in Alabama’s defense.

Latu is the ninth commitment of a class that has been a bit slow to come together. He is listed at 6’5’ and 236 lbs. with a frame that can easily support the additional 25-30 lbs. that he will need to be an every down Jack LB. He has plus speed and agility, and uses his hands well. Welcome and Roll Tide, Cameron!
