Penei Sewell
One of Alabama’s top DL prospects in the 2018 class has had some bad luck to start his senior year. 4-star DL Penei Sewell has a torn labrum. He is playing through it and plans to have surgery after his season. Recruitment wise, Alabama still looks to be the favorite with Oregon as his second school. Sewell does intend to take an official to Tuscaloosa.
Asa Martin
What a story new #Auburn commit Asa Martin has to tell. Find out how he got to be a #WDE. Some strong words here. https://t.co/p2tnFHwjbM pic.twitter.com/CBTQdOjkwh

Big-time Tide target and in-state RB Asa Martin has committed to Auburn. Yes, this is old news but I feel it is worth mentioning. RB isn’t a huge concern for Alabama, but he would have been a good addition.
Nadab Joseph
Roll Tide
— Nadab Joseph (@nadabjoseph) September 9, 2017
Not only is 5-star CB Nadab Joseph my favorite player in the 2018 class, but he is really starting to lean heavily towards Alabama. The 6-2 South Florida CB recently decomitted from LSU and ‘Bama looks to be the favorite. Joseph has it all and could be the next lockdown corner at Alabama.
Coynis Miller
Can confirm that 4-star DT Coynis Miller made it to Tuscaloosa for a visit. Big time 2018 in-state target. @rollbamaroll @SBNRecruiting

Right up there with Sewell, Coynis Miller is a huge target for Nick Saban. The 300 pound defensive tackle made his second trip to Tuscaloosa since June. Coynis is a 4-star and is down to Alabama and Auburn. I like the Tide’s chances here.
Jaylen Waddle
#HookEm target WR Jaylen Waddle (@D1__JW) finally gets in the end zone! He's seen double/triple coverage all night long. pic.twitter.com/8mX83R0Uiy

#TexasSpeed is a real thing and 4-star WR Jaylen Waddle proves that. The new Alabama target has really creeped up the board and I think it’s safe to say The Tide are the favorite. Waddle may only be 5’9, but his speed is what makes him the 67th player in the nation.
Justyn Ross
Justyn Ross is widely known as Alabama’s top overall target, and could be a huge asset for Nick Sabam and Co. in the future. The 6-4 WR from Phoenix City, AL has it all. Ross is ranked as the 8th best WR in the country. Ross has been an Alabama lean forever, but many now see Clemson as the landing spot after a visit on September 9th. Crystal Ball predictions say Clemson, but I’m not buying the hype.
Quarterbacks Update
My thoughts still say the same: A quarterback in this class isn’t a priority and I don’t forsee Alabama taking one this cycle. Alabama is going to put most of their focus on cornerbacks, as Alabama needs to land some top CB targets. Biggest name is OSU commit, Emory Jones. I don’t expect Alabama to take a QB, and that is more than OK with me.
Bold Prediction
At this point in time, much about Alabama’s class is uncertain. One player that I always head good things about though is Josh Jobe. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he picks the Tide. Jobe is a former Miami commit and is down to Miami, Michigan and Alabama. I think the staff will show him the love he wants, and ultimately I think he pulls the trigger, which would be huge for this 2018 class.
