2017 College Football Playoff National Championship

Here are the latest odds to win the 2017-18 College Football Playoff National Championship (Washington at 28/1 looks pretty tempting; the Buckleyes at 17/2 may be worth keeping an eye on.) As other teams have strengthened (and others like Mississippi State have vauled on to the board,) Alabama has seen its odds grow longer, though the Tide is still the favorite. Look at Clemson’s movement; From 14/1 to almost-two-to-one in just three games.

2017 Heisman Memorial Trophy

Jalen Hurts also saw his individual odds for the Heisman diminish, although he was only ever an extreme dark horse. Baker Mayfield’s outstanding second half in Columbus (and the lack of a dominant running game,) coupled with another mediocre marquee let down by Lamar Jackson, have made the 17th year senior the man to beat. Given the state of the Big 12, I’d probably not go against this one either -- another outstanding season plus lighting up Oklahoma State in Bedlam and/or the Big 12 championship, will get him the votes. Saquon Barkley at 9/1 is enticing too, should Jackson and Mayfield falter.

Baker Mayfield (QB Oklahoma) 4/1 7/4

Lamar Jackson (QB Louisville) 7/4 11/2

Sam Darnold (QB USC) 6/1 11/2
