Alabama won a huge game last night, but they paid a hefty price in doing so:
Redshirt junior Christian Miller, who is listed as Alabama's starter at Sam linebacker, has a torn biceps and is expected to miss the rest of the year, according to sources.
In addition, sophomore Terrell Lewis, who is one of the Tide's top young defensive players, tore a ligament in his elbow and is out for the year, per sources.
The only saving grace is that both players should be granted medical redshirts. We will wait to hear more on Monday, but Hootie Jones also suffered some sort of shoulder injury and may miss some time, Rashaan Evans pulled a groin, and Anfernee Jennings sprained an ankle.
Deionte Thompson will likely be the next man up at safety, but outside linebacker really took a beating here. Looks like former walk-on Jamey Mosley and true freshman Christopher Allen will get some time in the sun, at least until Evans returns. In any event, what was an embarrassment of riches in terms of linebacker depth will certainly be tested. Hope for the best.
