NCAA Football: CFP National Championship Game-Alabama vs Georgia
Even without this guy, the Tide are heavy favorites.
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

This should come as no surprise, given the wealth of young talent and difference-makers returning from the 2017 title team, but the Crimson Tide are heavily favored to repeat in the Santa Clara CFP National Championship game next season.

A lot of the second-tier favorites here are familiar, including 2017 Playoff participants Georgia and Clemson. Investment-wise, I like some teams that just missed (Wisconsin 22/1) and Miami (22/1,) and a Big 10 dark horse here — Michigan (9/1). In the season Finale Blog Poll later today, the Wolverines are in our preseason Top 10 for 2018 (for many reasons.) Clemson at 6:1 isn’t bad value either, provided the front seven can be retooled. But, the Tigers have recruited well enough the last 4-5 years to get back in the picture. And, the Tigers’ biggest liability will likely work itself out during the offseason: I would bet good U.S. currency on Kelly Bryant losing his job to Hunter Johnson.

Here’s the list from Bovada.

A fool and his money are soon parted. By which I mean, Auburn is nowhere close to a 20:1 favorite.
