The Tide came out with some old-fashioned manball and drove for two long TD drives to open the game as Miss State went 3 and out on back-to-back drives. The State defense did stiffen up and kept the Tide to only one more TD, but their offense never did score. They got close at the end of the half, but a Hollywood level flop by Shyheim Carter and some self-inflicted wounds led to the Bulldogs missing a field goal as time expired.

On to the second half, and may Tua’s knee stay strong.
Roll Tide!
