He was one of the Tide’s first commits for the 2019 class, but ultimately decommitted last year. The 5 star running back and #5 overall player in the nation out of IMG academy has been quiet ever since.
Most projected he would eventually wind up back with Alabama, but rumblings over the last month have hinted that he was most likely going elsewhere— with things really heating up the last couple of days. But, rumblings are just rumblings, it seems, as Sanders is now part of Alabama’s already loaded 2019 recruiting class and replaces Anotonio Alfano as the Tide’s top recruit.
At 6’0”, 214 and a 4.52 forty yard dash, Sanders is a prototypical 3-down bellcow back that Alabama has always favored. Both nimble and powerful with a low center of gravity, he earned his #5 overall status. If you’re the kind that likes highlights, here you go:
With Damien Harris moving on to the NFL and Josh Jacobs a real possibility of doing so as well, Sanders will be a welcome addition to a backfield lacking depth in 2019 and 2020.
