All of the talk has been around the Heisman trophy, but there are three major “player of the year” awards, and the first one, given by the Walter Camp foundation, has gone to Tua Tagovailoa.
Congratulations to Tua on a well-deserved honor.
UPDATE: This doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it’s somewhat promising.
The last five Walter Camp Player of the Year Award winners have gone on to win the Heisman Trophy— Kevin McGuire (@KevinOnCFB) December 6, 2018
2013: Jameis Winston
2014: Marcus Mariota
2015: Derrick Henry
2016: Lamar Jackson
2017: Baker Mayfield
With Tua Tagovailoa winning the 2018 award, will that streak continue?
Update 2: Add another one to the list as Tua also takes home the Maxwell Award.
