The 2019 Alabama football schedule has reportedly been finalized. And, there are two ways to look at it: Either this is a collection of Tiny Tims ready to be beaten to death with their own crutches or it’s a geographically diverse group of out-of-conference bowl opponents that runs the gamut from Power Five to Group of Five to an annual FCS game.
Ready for it?
Western Carolina, Southern Miss, Duke, and New Mexico State.
I’m going to play Baghdad Bob here for a moment. I’m going to full-on tank for the Tide on this one: Three out of four of those teams made bowl games in 2017?!

The realist in me wonders how on earth you publicly defend that slate versus the talent level that Alabama has stockpiled. There’s not even a pretense of an elite season-opener. Alabama better win every game by forty points in 2019 to win over doubters. Rightly or wrongly, Alabama is held to the ipsative standard that it has created, rather than receive the slack afforded to other national contenders who kick cripples for half a season (looking at you, Buckeyes.)
So, take the poll and drop your dankest take below. (My take? I’d hate to be the one trying to sell tickets to this. #Pray4SalesDepartment #CoffeeIsForClosers)
