It was widely speculated that Alabama wasn’t overly concerned about landing a passer in the 2018 class with such a young QB room currently and two top notch in-state prospects with ties to the University in the 2019 class. As expected, the Tide have now landed both.
As most know, the Tagovailoa family moved to Alabama before the start of last season, and it was widely assumed that Taulia would end up in Tuscaloosa. Taulia is built an awful lot like his older brother, standing somewhere around six feet tall and weighing in at around 190. He’s a fine player in his own right, but adds an additional benefit of keeping Alabama football in the limelight over in Hawaii, where Crimson Tide games will be played on the radio this season. Five-star DL Faatui Tuitele plays at the same high school that Tua attended in Hawaii, and the Tagovailoas are said to be recruiting him hard to the Capstone.
With the commitment, the Tide will move up to #2 in the 247 composite rankings behind Oklahoma.
Welcome, Taulia, and Roll Tide!
