Okay, maybe we’ll forgive the Utah State game for this one:
The Crimson Tide will play Texas in 2022 and 2023, it was announced Wednesday.
They will play Sept. 10, 2022 in Texas and Sept. 9, 2023 in Alabama.
__
“We’re thrilled to be able to add another incredible non-conference opponent with the University of Texas for a home-and-home series,” Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne said. “It’s been nearly 100 years since Alabama has visited Austin and over a century since the Longhorns have traveled to Tuscaloosa, so we’re looking forward to it. This will certainly be a great opportunity for our program and our fans.”
This is the kind of scheduling that makes those Tide Pride donations worth it. And, as Josh said offline, “Saban will definitely be coaching that one...for one team or another.”
Meanwhile, there is an added bit of humor in all of this:
UCF at Texas, which was scheduled for Sept. 9, 2023, has been canceled.

Feel free to insert your own joke there, but this is simply delicious trolling.
