The calendar may have flipped to May but the Crimson Tide is still rolling along with Wednesday’s commitment of 4-star defensive tackle DJ Dale. The big man is 6’2” and 323 lbs. and attends Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, AL.
Dale visited Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee this spring but home is where the heart is. His last visit was to A-Day and that sealed the deal.
“I chose Alabama because of the relationships I have with all the coaches. I feel like I will be well taken care of there. I can really see myself playing for them and I wanted to go to a place where I can win and have fun doing it.
”I just felt in my gut that Alabama is the right place for me. I committed to them over Clemson.”
.....
Dale is a strong interior defensive linemen who plays with leverage and works his hands. Look for him to line up right over the opposing center on the Crimson Tide defensive line.
With the pledge from Dale, Alabama’s recruiting class moved from #1 to slightly higher #1.

SWEET HOME ALABAMA
The state of Alabama is more than making up for last year’s disappointing group of in-staters. The Crimson Tide now has six of the top 11 in-state players according to 247sports Comp. Auburn has two in-state pledges and three are undecided. To give you an idea of how good the state is, Bama QB commit Paul Tyson is #11.
