Will Reichard, a product of Hoover, AL, is the #2 ranked kicker in the 2019 class and just committed to Alabama. With the drama of Eddy Piniero and Brandon Ruiz in the last few years, is it too much to hope that the elite kicking product holds fast to his commitment all the way through Signing Day?
Breaking: Alabama lands in-state K Will Reichard
“I fell in love with it,” Reichard said of Alabama in an interview after his spring game with John Garcia Jr. “I just knew in my heart (the winning school) is where I needed to go. I’ve had this feeling in my heart, I would say, for the past couple of weeks. I don’t really see it changing so I just kind of want to go ahead and get it locked in with the school I want to go to.
”That way, I can build relationships with all the coaches, not just the ones that are recruiting me. Also, the other players that are committed in the class.”
Reichard continues to solidify Nick Saban’s hold on strong in-state class this year, after the duds of the last couple of years in Alabama. 6 of the 10 top players in the state are now Tide commitments, and 5-star center Clay Webb is still out there with a solid chance of joining the Tide as well.
Alabama is easily in first place in the national recruiting rankings, well ahead of #2 Oklahoma with 14 commitments, 6 of which are in the top 100 recruits in the nation— plus a top kicker.
Roll Tide!
