Recent news broke that reserve Alabama offensive lineman Dallas Warmack was planning to grad-transfer. Almost immediately, Oregon was mentioned as a potential destination for the redshirt sophomore and it was announced this week that he has indeed landed in Eugene. It is an excellent opportunity and Tide Nation wishes him all the best.
Soon after came word of fellow reserve lineman Brandon Kennedy’s similar intentions to transfer. However, his top two choices appear to be ... Auburn or Tennessee. I will give you a minute to hold down your breakfast...
If you are reading this article, there is a high probability that you are an Alabama fan through and through. As big as a fan that you might be, you would have to think that someone who donned the crimson and white and ran out onto the field at Bryant-Denny on a crisp fall afternoon to the roar of 101,821 fans must be even more proud of their team. However, here we have an Alabama player with a desire to play for Auburn or Tennessee, the most hated of rivals of the Tide. Can you imagine?
Maybe it is about depth charts (Tennessee) or maybe it is about proximity to home (Auburn), we may never know. It just seems inexplicable that a Tide player who was in good standing with the team could find themselves wanting to go to one of those schools.
THE GOOFY OFF-SEASON ROUND TABLE
All that said, imagine you were in Kennedy’s position, needing to transfer out for whatever reason.
