One week after losing reserve offensive lineman Dallas Warmack to transfer comes reports that fellow reserve lineman Brandon Kennedy is also planning to leave the program.
After enrolling early in January 2015, Kennedy took a redshirt his first year. In 2016, he played in seven games off the bench. Last season as a redshirt sophomore, he emerged as the second team center and saw action in three of the first four games before suffering a season-ending foot injury. He was granted a medical redshirt after the season ended, meaning he has three years of eligibility remaining. As a graduate, the Wetumpka, AL native will grad-transfer and should retain those three seasons.
The Tide still has 16 offensive linemen on its roster for 2018 after two signees from the 2018 signing class, Emil Ekiyor and Tommy Brown, arrive on campus this summer. Ekiyor is projected as a center or guard.
Unofficially, Alabama is believed to have 86 scholarship players, one above the limit of 85.
