Let’s admit it. We are spoiled. As Alabama fans, we have come to expect the Crimson Tide to win every single football game. And for the most part, Nick Saban has complied. Yet, there has always been that fly-in-the-ointment game that has the Tide on the ropes. Even in the undefeted season of 2009, Bama needed the niracle of “Rocky Block” to save the day.
On paper the 2018 schedule does not look so difficult. But who would’ve figured a cocky little freshman Aggies quarterback would topple the Tide in Bryant-Denny. There is danger out there. The poll question for today: Which 2018 Alabama opponent concerns you the most?
2018 SCHEDULE
September 1st vs. Louisville - Lamar Jackson is gone. It is time for former 4-star QB Jawon Pass. The Cards lost a lot of depth, but the Tide cannot get too cocky. Both teams will see some new young starters. Add in that this game takes place in a stadium and city that Alabama is not familiar with. Also expect the UCF trolls to be out in full force.
September 8th vs. Arkansas State - The Red Wolves have a many returning starters including former Sooners quarterback Justice Hansen (3,967 yds, 37 TD).
September 15th @ Ole Miss - There is nothing more dangerous than a team with nothing to lose and a us-against-the-world attitude. Jordan Ta’amu looked pretty good after Shea Patterson went down to injury.
September 22nd vs. Texas A&M - It’s Jimbo vs Nick. The new Aggies coach is a wily old coach. His team has yet to hear any of his locker room speeches. He might be dusting off some old ones from his time at FSU for this game.
September 29th vs. UL Lafayette - On a completely different subject, aren’t you just completely fatigued by all these stupid superhero movies? If you keep paying to see them, they are going to keep making them and nothing else worth a ****.
October 6th @ Arkansas - New coach, new attitude. The Hogs have never beaten Saban. They return many starters.
October 13th vs. Missouri - A young Tide secondary vs. the fire power of Drew Locke (3964 yds, 44 TDs). This is one of those second half season games that can be sketchy.
October 20th @ Tennessee - Having never coached a single game at any level, Jeremy Pruitt is a wild card. Know that there is a lot of familiarity in his philosophy and the Process®. Plus the game will be played in Knoxville in front of a few fans that are sick of losing to the Tide.
November 3rd @ LSU - This one is always dangerous. Don’t fall into the trap that Bama always win in Red Stick, PAWWWLL.
November 10th vs. Mississippi State - Speaking of returning starters, the Bullies have a bunch including senior QB Nick Fitzgerald and junior DL Jeffery Simmons who likely goes pro after the season. MSU may have as many as 12 seniors and six juniors line up against Alabama.
November 17th vs. The Citadel - Will there be more Ricks or Mortys?
November 24th vs. Auburn - This is the one team Saban has struggled with during his time at Alabama. He is 7-4 against the War Beagles including a 2010 loss in Tuscaloosa.
Admitting concern does not equate to thinking the Tide takes a loss. Vote away and give us your two cents in Comments.
