11 true freshmen, including one walk-on, played against Tennessee.

Two made their returns to the line-up and burned their redshirts, Keilan Robinson and Will Reichard. Reichard’s appearance, his first in almost a month, was short-lived, as he re-aggravated an injury while punting.

That led to another freshman getting playing time, though. And, for the second time in three games, it was a freshman making his first appearance. This time, a star was born. Walk-on true freshman Ty Perine got a chance to punt and boomed two, averaging 46.5 yards.

With Robinson and Reichard appearing in their fifth games, 13 members of the 26 member Class of 2019 have lost the ability to redshirt (I believe that’s 50%, but feel free to check my math).

Here’s where the freshmen who didn’t play against Tennessee stand.

  • King Mwikuta - LB (5)

  • DeMarcco Hellams - DB (5)
