What a world.
Oklahoma has beaten teams with a winning record by 1.6 points per game, was gifted a game-ending first down by Big 12 refs, and again struggled with a .500 team...and they get to move all the way up to 6th because of Penn State’s narrow loss and the Ducks’ implosion.
Fan voters have been very forgiving of Auburn’s tough losses this season, dropping them to just 13th. The same can be said for No. 11 Penn State, who sport two losses to the No. 2 and 10 teams in the nation by just 16 total points — with both coming on the road.
The one to keep an eye on here are the Utes, who have looked outstanding the last 6 weeks. The problem is, they won just 2 games against the Top 40 this season, and their one loss was to decent-not-great 7-4 USC. How that merits more than, say, a 10-1 Baylor team is beyond me. Baylor sports wins over two Top 25 teams and one loss by 3 to Oklahoma.
Memphis again leads a crowded G5 field, still sitting at 12th a poised to earn a New Year’s Six bowl nod if they can take care of business down the stretch.
Here’s this week’s FanPulse Top 25. Who’s too high? Too low? Not ranked? Doesn’t deserve to be here?
