Alabama Crimson Tide Recruiting: Early National Signing Day Open Thread

Complete signing schedules for the class in 2020.

Traeshon Holden, Thaiu Jones-Bell, Quandarrius Robinson and Brian Branch.

The Early Signing Period for FBS College Football Class of 2020 kicked off early this morning. National letters of intent (LOI) do not become official until the universities receive copies of the forms signed by the player and a parent or guardian, usually by fax or digital copies. So, there will be delays between “signed” and “received”.

Some of the committed and uncommitted have tentative scheduled announcements times while others are TBA. Check back throughout the day for the status of each recruit as we will be constantly updating. [All times listed below are CT and subject to change.]

  1. S Brian Branch - Keep an eye on this guy. He had a great senior campaign. SIGNED/LOI RECEIVED
  2. OC Seth McLaughlin - Georgia State Champs. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  3. RB Kyle Edwards - 1,516 rushing yards and 24 TDs in 2019. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  4. OL Javion Cohen - Auburn flip. We like him. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  5. RB Roydell Williams, 8:30am - In four HS seasons, totaled 5,929 rushing yards and 84 TDs, 70 receptions 738 yards and 6 scores through the air. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  6. DB Jahquez Robinson, 8am - Reportedly joining the team for bowl practice. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  7. DT Jah-Marien Latham, 9am - Class 1A Lineman of the Year for 2018 (2019 has yet to be announced). SIGNED/RECEIVED
  8. LB Drew Sanders, 9am - 5-star, No. 21 overall. Could play any LB position. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  9. WR Thaiu Jones-Bell, 8am - Ability to play in the slot and outside. Ranked 4-stars, No. 101 overall and many crootin’ experts think that is too low. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  10. ILB Jackson Bratton, 10am - Class 6A First Team All-State Linebacker in 2018. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  11. OLB/DE Chris Braswell, 10am - 5-star, No. 17. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  12. OLB Quandarrius Robinson, 10am - Projects as as a standup outside linebacker that can blitz and drop back into coverage when needed. No. 46 overall. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  13. ILB Demouy Kennedy - 10am - Fringe 5-star, potential star. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  14. TE Caden Clark, 6:30am (time change TBD*) - HS won 4 straight state titles before being upset this year. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  15. QB/S Kristian Story, 12:15pm - Named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Alabama. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  16. DT Timothy Smith, Conflicting times, but believed to be 1:15pm - Possible flip to Fla. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  17. S Malachi Moore, 12:30pm - Comfortable in man or zone coverage with the IQ to disguise. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  18. Jack/DE Will Anderson, 1pm - May remind you of Tim Williams. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  19. CB Ronald Williams - 1pm - Juco All-American. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  20. QB Bryce Young, 3pm - 5-star, top QB, No. 6 overall. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  21. RB Jase McClellan, flipped from Oklahoma commit. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  22. WR Traeshon Holden - 5:30pm - 31 catches for 512 yards and seven touchdowns, playing in just seven games after waiting for the CIF to approve his eligibility to participate. He returned a kickoff for a touchdown as well. SIGNED/RECEIVED
  • OL Damieon George, TBD - Now hearing he may sign in Feb.

  • TE Jeremiah Pegues, 8am - If he signs with Bama, Darnell Washington is probably going elsewhere. My fear is the Tide staff strung Pegues along too long and he ends up at Aubie. AUBURN
  • OLB Phillip Webb, 11am on ESPNU - Bama or LSU. I’m not feeling good about this one. LSU
  • WR Arian Smith, 12:05-12:15pm on ESPNU - Bama or UGA. Nor this one. UGA

  • RB Jase McClellan, Oklahoma commit, momentum seems to be going Alabama’s way. Word is he is signing at 7am this morning and will have a ceremony/party around 5:30pm. Stay tuned... FLIPPED!

  • WR Rakim Jarrett Maryland (?!?!?)
  • TE Darnell Washington
  • DT McKinnley Jackson

  • The University of Alabama will have live coverage from 9-11am on, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the ESPN app. The show is usually pretty boring and has no insights since they cannot comment on a player until he is official.
  • ESPN2 will also have a show from 9-11am. ESPNU will take over from 11am-2pm.
  • Your best bet is the SEC Network who will have coverage from 11am up until Finebaum takes over from 2-6pm. After a boring LSU basketball game burns up two hours, SEC Now will be back at 8pm with more coverage.

  • Auburn was hoping to rebuild their forces through the juco ranks, but missed on OT Jeremy Flax (Kentucky) and CB Brian George (Texas A&M).
  • Oklahoma commit Michael Henderson and Arkansas de-commit Brandon Frazier could be possible tight end targets for the Tide in the new year.
  • High 4-star DE Alfred Collins will wait til February to sign. Bama is a finalist.
  • 5-star WR Rakim Jarrett spurned (and basically lied to) LSU and signed with Maryland to be closer to home.
  • Rumors that LSU really upset a lot of people in the DMV area when Coach O dropped Demon Clowney also from from St. Frances Academy.
  • Phillip Webb to LSU.
  • Arian Smith picks Georgia. Poor guy.
  • Five of the Top 7 classes are from the SEC, four of which are in the West division.
  • Justin Flowe committed to Oregon.
  • No. 5 Jordan Burch commits to South Carolina. However, he has yet to sign his LOI and reportedly will not do so today.
  • Both LSU and UGA were convinced they were getting Burch.
  • Josh Jacobs younger brother 4-star RB Isaiah Jacobs will sign with Terps and Mike Locksley.
  • LSU lost another WR commit with Jermaine Burton flipping to UGA.
