Clemson: Won perhaps the fifth or sixth best conference in FBS.
LSU: Head coach is a Cajun journeyman who has been fighting for respect.
Clemson: Head coach is a hayseed who has only coached at two schools.
LSU: First playoff appearance.
Clemson: Fifth straight playoff appearance, winning two of the last three National Championships.
LSU: Blew out Oklahoma in the semifinal 63-28.
Clemson: Won a squeaker against Ohio State 29-23.
LSU: Purple and “gold”, although it sure looks like yellow to most.
Clemson: Orange with purple as an accent color that is almost never seen.
LSU: Opened as a 3-point favorite by Caesars but quickly moved up to 6. O/U is 70.
Clemson: Underdog for the first time this season.
