Early lines show Tide heavily favored in big games - again.

Vegas sees a clear difference between Alabama and the rest of the West.

Brett McMurphy tweeted out some “big game” early lines and, as you might expect, Alabama is heavily favored in each of its matchups.

As you can see, Alabama is favored by a full two touchdowns against all three of the other projected SEC West contenders in Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn. A few other items of note:

  • Despite losing Kyler Murray, Oklahoma is clearly expected to walk through the Big 12 again with that massive 17 point spread over Texas. No other games on the Sooners’ schedule are worth mentioning, though they should get credit for scheduling Houston and UCLA out of conference.
  • Vegas expects Florida to give Georgia a tough time, and based on the spreads against Michigan, the Gators are projected to be almost as good as Ohio State.
  • Notre Dame isn’t expected to give the Dawgs too much trouble.
  • Clemson is favored by 8 points more against the Aggies than Alabama, albeit at home vs. on the road. More telling, there isn’t a single game on their conference schedule that McMurphy bothered to list. #ACC
  • Michigan is projected to end its seven year drought vs. the Buckeyes.

Obviously, a lot can change between now and Thanksgiving, but at this point Vegas appears to be projecting essentially the same playoff field as last year, with 2-3 teams battling for one spot to join Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma.

@That should make everybody happy.@
