Reuben Foster goes down with potentially serious leg injury

Terrible news for a young man trying to take advantage of a second chance.

Bad news out of Washington Redskins camp this afternoon:

Just this weekend, new teammate Landon Collins had talked about being a big brother figure to Reuben as he tried to seize a second chance after being jettisoned from the San Francisco 49ers amid high-profile domestic issues. The Redskins brass had reportedly been impressed with Foster, but if this is as bad as it apparently looked, it will be next season before they get the chance to see him in live action.

Thankfully for Reuben, he followed Saban’s advice in college and returned for his senior season, resulting in a first round selection and commensurate $4.7M signing bonus. Hopefully his career is far from over, but in the worst case scenario he has banked almost $6M in only three NFL seasons. He is in our thoughts today and we will be closely following his recovery.

Roll Tide, Reuben.
