COMMIT: Top 100 DE Commits to Alabama for 2020

Georgia native rolls with the Tide.

4-star William Anderson announced his 2020 college commitment to Alabama on Monday. He was actually set to commit last Tuesday, but decided to take an official visit to Georgia Tech this past weekend. He was likely convinced after attending a Crimson Tide camp on June 8.

Anderson is rated as the 91st best overall player by the 247sports Composite. They also rate him the fifth best weakside defensive end and 10th best overall in the Peach State. He plays for Atlanta-area power Dutchtown High School in Hampton, GA where he recorded 16 sacks last season. The Bulldogs finished 12-1 in 2018 losing in the AAAAA semifinals.

Being 6’3” and 233 lbs, it is uncertain where he will play once he arrives at the Capstone, but Jack linebacker seems the likeliest spot. He is an elite pass-rushing terror but needs some more weight to stay at end. He has long arms, first-step quickness, and has few problems manipulating offensive linemen.

Anderson chose Alabama over LSU and hometown Georgia Tech. Charles Kelly and Sal Sunseri are credited with this commitment.

The Crimson Tide now has 20 commitments in a class that is expected to total around 26 or 27.
