First round games for the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament were leaked on Thursday and reported by Jon Rothstein who writes for CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated. The Crimson Tide will face off against North Carolina.
The Tar Heels, led by Roy Williams in his 17th season in Chapel Hill, finished last season with a record of 29–7 (16–2). UNC made it to the Sweet Sixteen before falling to Auburn.
The other B4A matchups are as follows:
- Michigan vs Iowa State
- Gonzaga vs Southern Miss
- Seton Hall vs Oregon
Game times and second round matchups have yet to be determined. B4A takes place November 27-29 in the Bahamas with each team playing three games. It is the ninth year of elite collegiate tournament.
Also reported today is that the Tide will host the Richmond in December, date and time TBA. The Spiders are coached by Chris Mooney (13th season). Richmond is coming off back-to-back 20-loss seasons.
