Just when it looked like Alabama was going into the fall completely healthy, the injury bug returns to smite the Crimson Tide.
Alabama five-star freshman running back Trey Sanders suffered a significant foot injury on the last play of the team’s practice Thursday night and is expected to miss the entire season, per sources https://t.co/1dyDuKijYR— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) August 10, 2019
Nick Saban was just gushing over Trey Sanders during a post-practice press conference on Wednesday.
“Trey Sanders is doing really, really well in camp. His work ethic is really good. He’s learning every day. His attention to detail seems to be pretty good. He’s got some ability that may be able to contribute to the team.”
Sanders was expected to get significant playing time this season and perhaps leapfrog a few returning veterans. On the positive side, Alabama still has juniors Najee Harris and Brian Robinson as well as freshmen Jerome Ford and Keilan Robinson.
