Southern Miss Golden Eagle vs Alabama Crimson Tide: Second half open thread

Score at half: 28-7

NCAA Football: Southern Mississippi at Alabama Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama shot off to an outstanding start, rattling off touchdown after touchdown on a dazzling display of fireworks. They slowed down a little at the end of the half when Tua Tagovailoa almost threw a pick on a slant route and then went three and out with 55 seconds left in the game. The Tide defense was outstanding for most of the first half, with all the freshman not really showing the freshman mistakes we’ve seen in the previous few games.

The Golden Eagles did score right at the end of the half, but that drive was aided by two uncalled pick plays and a long running back swing pass that saw 260-pound Anfernee Jennings trying to keep up with a 180 pound speedster down the field.

I’m sure Saban will have plenty of halftime messages about not slacking up and finishing the game.
