For the second time in a week, Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide find themselves going on the road to take on one of the conference’s elites, as they visit Lexington, Kentucky. John Calipari’s 14th-ranked Wildcats aren’t as talented as they have been in years’ past, but this is still one of the main contenders for the SEC crown, and they will surely be looking to avenge last year’s upset loss in Coleman Coliseum. On top of that, Kentucky is also sitting at 999 all-time wins, so they’ve got an extra incentive to get win #1000 in front of the home crowd before they take to the road next week.
So, it’s going to be a tough task. However, the Tide are playing their best basketball of the season. Alabama has found itself racing up the advanced stats metrics like Kenpom and ESPN’s BPI in recent weeks, and they have developed a confidence that I haven’t seen coming out of Tuscaloosa in a long time. These guys are dangerous, and they are looking to give Oats his first signature victory in Crimson and White.
The game will tip at 11:00 AM CST and will be broadcast on ESPN.
