Saturday notes: Ingram vs. Henry, Alabama vs. Kentucky, Georgia signs a QB

A few weekend nuggets for you.

NCAA Football: CFP National Championship-Clemson vs Alabama Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

A few notes for you on Saturday:

We continue to monitor the Najee Harris situation closely. While sources are everywhere saying that he is planning on returning, Najee has said nothing. Of course, you may remember back during his recruitment when Michigan people thought they had flipped him, only to watch Najee say nothing and just show up in Tuscaloosa. We will keep you updated, but for now it seems that he will be back.

As mentioned previously, Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry will face off in the AFC playoffs tonight on CBS. That is must see TV, folks. We will have a game thread for those who wish to watch and discuss.

In addition to Bamabrave4’s outstanding work, A Sea of Blue has a fine Alabama vs. Kentucky preview if you like to peer behind enemy lines. This is a huge opportunity for Nate Oats and team to add a Quadrant 1 win to an improving NCAA resume. Tipoff is at 11am CT.

This happened this week, and it is kind of weird:

Yes, that is Tua holding for an extra point in the bottom right corner...

Georgia signed themselves a QB from the quitter hole in Wake Forest transfer Jamie Newman. He’s fine as a starter but Mark Richt says he will be the best QB in the SEC. For those counting, Newman put up a passer rating of 145, playing in the ACC with an abysmal non-conference slate. Over the last 5 games of the season, he averaged 160 yards passing on 48% completions with 6 TD and 6 INT. It wouldn’t be Georgia if they didn’t get themselves all worked up over a player who isn’t a clear upgrade over the pedestrian Jake Fromm we saw in 2019.

That’s it for now. Enjoy your Saturday.

Roll Tide.
