There is no one more deserving.

Eddie Jackson was a fan favorite during his college years, known for a ferocious work ethic that allowed him to return from a torn ACL much sooner than expected. We cried with him when he suffered a leg fracture during his senior season, and again when his presence was missed in a hard fought loss in the national championship. The Chicago Bears took him in the fourth round of the subsequent draft, and Alabama fans rooted as hard for him to succeed as any player who has come through Tuscaloosa.

Eddie’s ship has come in.

Per his agency, SportsTrust Advisors, Jackson has signed a four-year, $58.4 million contract extension with the team. It makes him the highest paid safety in the NFL with a yearly average of $14.6 million and includes a $33 million signing bonus.

Eddie has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons and was a first team All-Pro in 2018, grabbing 10 career interceptions and three touchdowns. He has earned every penny, and we couldn’t be more proud of him.

Roll Tide, Eddie!
