Devonta Smith announces his return to Alabama in 2020

The Tide will return solid production at WR after all.

NCAA Football: Alabama at Auburn John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Following Tua Tagovailoa’s announcement that he will enter the NFL Draft, Devonta Smith took to social media to announce his decision.

Smith caught 68 passes for 1256 yards and 14 TDs this season, a massive line for a returning player. He caught 16 passes in Mac Jones’ four starts, so there is some decent chemistry there. Combined with Jaylen Waddle, the Tide will return over 1800 receiving yards, which is solid for any program. Several good candidates, headlined by John Metchie and Tyrell Shavers, will compete for the third and fourth slots in the offense.

The unquestioned leader of the group, however, will be Devonta. Congrats to him on his decision and we look forward to seeing him finish strong.

Roll Tide!
