Alabama started hot with a couple of huge deep balls to John Metchie to jump out to a 14 point lead, but a series of mistakes in back-to-back-to-back fashion (not pushing a man out of bounds turning into a long touchdown, a tipped interception, and then forgetting to cover a tight end) tied the game in less than a couple of minutes.

After that, though, the Tide defense tightened up, with Daniel Wright nabbing a pick six and the team forcing a turnover on downs and a couple of punts. Meanwhile, Mac Jones went out dropped a dime of a fade pass to Najee Harris and then another to the back of the endzone for Devonta Smith for another couple of scores.

The 14-14 tie evaporated before A&M’s eyes, and Alabama went to half with a commanding 35-14 lead.
