Back in August, Joanne S. Bass was appointed Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, the senior enlisted leader of the service, becoming the first Asian American woman to hold the position. On Tuesday, she shared a Nick Saban quote on her official Facebook page. (H/T to Rick Karle)
Teammates — we’re not in the ice cream business. We are in the business of growing leaders to win the high-end fight....

Saban’s reach already goes well beyond football. A successful entrepreneur outside of the game, countless organizations have hired him as keynote speaker at various conferences. He is often cited in the mainstream as an authority on leadership.
Coincidentally, Saban’s NFL counterpart and close friend Bill Belichick weighed in on Turkish genocide of Armenian citizens in the ongoing conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenian forces that has claimed more than 1,000 lives in the past six weeks:
“I’ll just say, while we’re on the subject, I read his point about combating traditional threats. And I couldn’t help but think and hope that we’ve seen from other countries around the world, and I hope that our country will take action against Turkey and Azerbaijan for their unprovoked and deadly attacks on Armenians,” Belichick said. “We’ve seen that when a humanitarian crisis and things like that, like ethnic cleansing, go unpunished, that they just continue to happen. I hope that we can put a stop to that.”
Belichick was responding to a question regarding a memo to the entire Department of Defense from acting Secretary Christopher Miller, in which Bill was quoted. The parallels between he and Nick continue to amaze. Something tells me that these two have significant collaboration in their future once their time on the sideline is up.
Roll Tide.
