Alabama’s 2020-2021 Basketball Schedule is finally here...sort of

The Tide released their non-conference schedule today...somewhat.

This is an eerily similar photograph, isn’t it?

After weeks and months of speculation and waiting, the University of Alabama finally released its shrunken version of the 2020-2021 non-conference basketball schedule.

The Tide will tipoff the season on November 25th with a home game with Jacksonville State. Alabama will next take the court in the Maui Classic.

Sounds great, right? It would be...if it were in Maui. However, the Invitational will be played in Asheville, NC due to the Covid. ‘Bama will play Stanford on November 30th, then the winner of UNC and UNLV on December 1st followed by a TBD game on December 12th. Then comes a 10-day break before traveling to Atlanta to play Clemson in the Holiday Hoopsgiving game.

Three more home games follow in the month of December, hosting Furman on the 15th, Houston on the 19th, and East Tennessee State on the 22nd. The SEC/BIG12 Challenge will be on January 30th, 2021, and the Tide will travel to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners. The last time the two teams met Herbert Jones made Trae Young his son and Collin Sexton was showing out in Coleman Coliseum.

That is all we have right now, nine games, with an 18-game SEC schedule to follow soon.

With Coach Nate Oats starting his second season and having a loaded roster it is a shame that a normal season is not possible. There really is not path to having full attendance to games this winter and spring, but hopefully things will improve soon, and we can celebrate this team that we all expect to be very good.
