Wake Up! College Football Gameday Open Thread

The annual “Game of the Century” isn’t quite a game of the century for once, but there’s plenty of nice college football happening on this crisp December day.

We’re now 14 weeks into a college football season, and teams in multiple conferences are still just getting started with their season. Sure feels weird, since normally we’d be gearing up for conference championship week right now.

In any case, the SEC has 5 games going on this weekend, with Georgia, Ole Miss, Miss State, and Vandy all taking the week off. Vanderbilt had to cancel on the Bulldogs due to Covid cases, while the Mississippi schools are just off due to the nature of the scheduling.

CB969 has been absolutely crushing it in the Tallysight picking system, and is now ranked 7th out of their entire database of 350 college football writers and media personalities. I’m not too far behind at 24th.

Texas A&M vs Auburn might wind up being an interesting game in the 11:00 time slot... Of course it could also be an absolute derp-fest of bad quarterbacking. I guess you could swap over to watch Oklahoma State and TCU or Ohio State and Michigan State if you want.

If you have any dogs in the lower Alabama rivalry, South Alabama and Troy play at 1:00, and there’s no telling what may happen. Florida and Tennessee have the 2:30 CBS slot, but Arkansas and Missouri at 3:00 will likely be the more competitive afternoon game.

And then, of course, you have LSU and Alabama at 7:00. That’s what matters.
