Alabama hits the road again, this time looking to complete a season sweep over the hated Auburn Tigers in front of their home fans. The Tide haven’t swept the Tigers or won at their place since 2015, and Auburn is currently riding a 16-game home winning streak in Auburn Arena. Alabama will also again be without Herb Jones as he continues to recover from wrist surgery.
So, the deck is stacked against the Tide in this one tonight. However, when you’ve got guys like Kira Lewis and John Petty to go along with shooters that are capable of getting hot like Jaden Shackelford, Beetle Bolden, and Alex Reese, you’ve got a shot against anybody. Alabama will need to bring the same defensive intensity they brought in Tuscaloosa in their 83-64 beat-down of the then-undefeated and 4th-ranked Tigers.
Hope for the best. This is a fantastic opportunity to pick up another Q1 win over the hated Tigers, so Alabama really needs to let it fly tonight. A loss doesn’t hurt ‘Bama’s resume much at all, so the Tide might as well play free and get after it on both ends.
The game will tip at 6:00 PM CST and will be televised on ESPN2.
