It’s been rough and rocky traveling,
But I’m finally standing upright on the ground.

- Wichita (5-6) was 32-24 last season but unrelenting rain caused the cancellation of the American Athletic Conference tournament and they did not qualify for the post-season. So far, the Shockers are led by junior Neleigh Herring who is hitting .432 with four dingers and 15 RBI in 11 games. Senior catcher Madison “Butters” Perrigan is at .382-2-10 on the young season.
- Penn State (5-5) has not had a winning season since 2016. They are a year removed from a 24-32 season with a 7-16 B1G record. The Nittany Lions lean heavily on lefty Bailey Parshall (2-0) in the circle. She has 42 strikeouts to only 7 walks. PSU averages 3.5 runs scored per game and own an anemic team batting average of .238 through ten games.
- Louisville (2-7) defeated Ole Miss to open the 2020 season but it has been all downhill from there. After losing two of their top three hitters and their top three pitchers from a year ago, the Cards do not resemble the team that was a few innings away from a Super Regional. Taylor Roby is hitting .292 with 4 HR and 8 RBI and is also their number one pitcher (2-3, 1.91 ERA).
- Elissa Brown could be the softball’s version of Herb Jones. Despite a broken hand bone that is on the mends, Brown could make an appearance or two as a pinch-runner. Murphy did not rule out the possibility of her taking an at bat, noting that she could bunt or slap.
