When John Petty needed support for his shooting arm as he prematurely left the court in Starkville, it appeared that his season was over along with any NCAA tournament hopes. Fortunately, it appears that he avoided the worst case.
Source: Alabama shooting guard John Petty’s elbow injury is just a sprain and it’s possible he could be back before the end of the regular season.

At the very least, sounds like they’re hopeful they'll have him back for the SEC tournament.https://t.co/x4E5tkHYDE
This news should be a huge shot in the arm, no pun intended, for the team as they face South Carolina tomorrow. Hopefully the home crowd will show out and be loud. The Gamecocks are a tough squad to begin with, but many of them will likely be looking to turn the tables on an Alabama team that spoiled their postseason hopes in Colonial Life Arena last February.
Get back soon, John. We need you.
Roll Tide.
