Alabama v. South Carolina Game Thread

Alabama Crimson Tide (15-13, 7-8 SEC) vs. South Carolina Gamecocks (17-11, 9-6 SEC)

NCAA Basketball: Alabama at Mississippi Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama attempts to finish out the season strong for the first time in a quite a while, as the South Carolina Gamecocks come to Tuscaloosa. With only three games left, there isn’t much the Tide can do to make a move towards the NCAA Tournament. Alabama simply has to tread water by winning these last three games and look to make some noise in Nashville in a few weeks.

John Petty won’t be playing tonight, as he recovers from an elbow strain that he suffered against Mississippi State earlier this week, which means the Tide remain short-handed. Despite this, Vegas has listed Alabama as 5.5-point favorites at home, which seems a bit generous. But they didn’t build all of those large buildings in the desert by losing money, so I’m inclined to roll with the sportsbooks on this one.

The game will tip at 7:30 PM CST and will be televised on the SEC Network.
