Days 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft are always much more interesting.
- Round 1 is a dog and pony show in which teams show off with big flashy grabs. It is hard to screw Day 1 up - though it does happen.
- Round 2 teams make up for their mistakes from the first.
- Round 3 is where they really start filling needs.
- Rounds 4-6 are meat and potatoes that fill in rosters.
- Round 7 is where they take flyers or gamble on a project or an unknown.
BAMA BONANZA
After the Crimson Tide got off to a showstopping first round they topped themselves on Day 2 with five additional players drafted in Rounds 2 and 3.
Tua Tagovailoa - R1, #5 overall, Miami Dolphins
Jedrick Wills Jr. - R1, #10 overall, Cleveland Browns
Henry Ruggs III - R1, #12 overall, Las Vegas Raiders
Jerry Jeudy - R1, #15 overall, Denver Broncos
Xavier McKinney - R2, #36 overall, New York Giants
Trevon Diggs - R2, #51 overall, Dallas Cowboys
Raekwon Davis - R2, #56 overall, Miami Dolphins
Terrell Lewis - R3, #84 overall, Los Angeles Rams
Anfernee Jennings - R3, #87 overall, New England Patriots
Four of the first 15 players selected (over a quarter of the first round), seven of the first 56, and nine of the first 87 were Alabama players. At the time of Jennings’s selection, Bama players represented 10.3% of the draft.
A total of nine Tide players through three rounds was second only to the ten from an LSU team who likely fielded the best team in their school’s history. Ohio State had seven - none of whom own a National Championship ring. Five teams had four selections each. Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Notre Dame had three each.
The SEC has dominated with 40 picks. Every SEC team outside of Ole Miss had a player drafted in the first three rounds.

SATURDAY
Up next are the finally four rounds. Three Crimson Tide players are still on the board and could hear their names called. If not, they will undeniably be picked up as undrafted free agents.
