COMMIT: Top Louisiana Safety Rolls With the Tide

4-star defensive back/linebacker hybrid from LSU territory picks Alabama.

Crimson Louisiana II CB969

Once again, Alabama sneaks into Looziana and comes away with a blue-chip safety. John Ehret High School in Marrero, LA is just across the Mississippi River from the Big Easy. It is from here that the Crimson Tide acquired a verbal pledge from big-bodied safety Kaine Williams.

Williams is ranked by the 247sport composite as the 141st best prospect in the nation for 2021. Rivals ranks him as 120th best overall. Both sites regard him as the No. 5 safety.

He has a good nose for the ball, corralling ten interceptions in the last two seasons. At 6’2” and 205 lbs., he is not afraid of contact. His big frame should serve him well in the new era of the safety/linebacker hybrid that is becoming more valuable to defenses throughout football.

Bama fans should be pleased to know that Defensive Coordinator Pete Golding is credited for swinging this commitment out of the hopeful arms of LSU and Texas A&M.

This pledge is the second for Alabama in the as many weeks as the Crimson Tide starts to build their recruiting momentum. Williams is the fifth member of the Class of 2021 and first in the secondary.
