There was buzz that Kendrick Blackshire was planning on announcing his college decision over July 4 weekend, but it did not happen. Good things come to those who wait.
I’m committing today because my mom came to me when I was about to commit on the 4th and she asked if I could commit on her moms birthday who died when she was 9 years old I said of course immediately ❤️ @CoachGolding @CoachJeffBanks @tm151621 @AlabamaFTBL pic.twitter.com/bGekFP50af

Alabama picked up their 12th commitment for the Class of 2021 in this 4-star Texan. He is ranked No. 152 overall by 247sports composite rankings.
With a college football-ready build at 6’2”/245, he excels in the inside, off the edge, and with a hand on the ground. The Crimson Tide will likely develop him as an inside linebacker, but that may depend on how he performs in his senior season (if it happens) at Duncanville High School.
Blackshire amassed 180 tackles as a freshman and sophomore but missed his junior season with an ACL injury. The allure of working with the Alabama strength & conditioning dynamic duo of David Ballou and Matt Rhea was a big part of the appeal for Blackshire.
“They would develop me best I feel like for the next level,” he said of the Tide earlier in the spring. “Their training staff - everyone knows I tore my ACL - they have one one of the top training staffs in college football. So I feel like that would be a huge advantage of me going there, getting back stronger, faster, and healthy.”
Blackshire chose Alabama over LSU and Texas A&M. The primary recruiter was Jeff Banks with Pete Golding as secondary.
The Crimson Tide are skyrocketing their way up the the Team Rankings. They are now number 10 and climbing.
