We have a couple of basketball notes to report this afternoon. First, great news on Donta Hall, who was signed for the rest of the season by the Brooklyn Nets.

This is outstanding news for Donta, who has worked his butt off to earn a roster spot.
Next, some news broke on Javian Davis.
Have learned that Alabama basketball forward Javian Davis has entered the transfer portal

With Alex Tchikou joining Alex Reese, James Rojas and Jordan Bruner down low, things were getting a little crowded in the frontcourt. This is an understandable move for Davis, who may well have seen the writing on the wall. Alabama now has one roster spot open, however.
Could it be that John Petty is going to return after all? Top assistant, and apparently one of the best damn recruiters in the country, Bryan Hodgson was asked about Petty yesterday. Here’s what he had to say.

It sounds like John is hoping to get a chance to show NBA teams what he can do, but COVID is standing in his way. The last thing we want to do is hold anyone back, but any Alabama fan would be lying to pretend they don’t salivate at the thought of adding him to this already loaded roster.
Stay tuned, folks.
Roll Tide.
