10 Facts, Opinions and Questions from the College Football Weekend

1. I was worried about Bama tackling issues until I noticed that most other highly ranked teams have full-blown tackling crises.

2. 19 of the 22 starters in the title game for LSU weren’t there against Clanga including the Heisman winner plus the DC and offensive guru. There was no reason for them to be ranked anywhere near the top 10 in the first place.

3. KJ Costello had over 600 yards passing on 60 attempts, 5 TDs, 3 turnovers and is teaching a full course load. That’s one busy Stanford grad.

4. I’m trying really really hard to keep from going apeshit about Will Anderson. I can’t recall a freshman LB in his first game looking anything like that...ever.

5. I guess a 23 handicap, starting QB and 4 coaches wasn’t enough of a disadvantage for Va Tech to keep from blowing out NC State. Who knew?

6. Apparently, the University of Houston is taking advantage of the 4 game redshirt rule to bring back a better team next year. That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.

7. Gimmicky neck gaiter changes, throwback unis, and a total lack of defense don’t win too many games, Joey Freshwater.

8. If you can’t get obvious calls correct on instant replay, why even have it all?

9. Give up 48 points and lose to a largely inept Kansas State team is bad. Losing to them twice in a row is a streak.

10. I’ve never pulled for Miami once but there’s something kinda funny about seeing FSU get slapped around every week for years. Side note: Anyone notice the "turnover chain" looks like a gun on the back? Coincidence?
