Well, that was much lower scoring than anyone expected. Alabama showed off its offensive firepower early then seemingly played a little Sabanball with a big lead. DeVonta Smith showed everyone why he deserves the Heisman that he has very likely won, and give the defense credit for an outstanding performance holding the Irish to one score before yielding a meaningless touchdown in garbage time, aided by an unsportsmanlike flag thrown by the same Humpty Dumpty lookalike who elected not to flag a cheap shot on a defenseless Najee Harris earlier in the half.
Malachi Moore missed this one after apparently being hurt in practice. We will hope for an update on him in the postgame. Jaylen Moody came in for Christian Harris, who seemingly had a good game that included an interception. No idea if that was injury related, but Moody looked good.
We now watch the Sugar Bowl to see whether the opponent will be Clemson or Ohio State for all the marbles.
Roll Tide.
