It wouldn’t be a playoff featuring Alabama without coaching turnover, and it appears that his iteration is no different. Tom Herman was fired this morning at Texas, and they had apparently identified their replacement before making the move.

This has been confirmed in a couple of places. Sark has certainly earned the promotion, but hopefully we will still get his best game against Ohio State. We will update as details emerge.

UPDATE: Matt Zenitz says the team has been informed.
Sources: Nick Saban confirmed during an Alabama team meeting that Steve Sarkisian is headed to Texas.
